I had an unfortunate experience at this hotel that overshadowed its beauty. While the location was stunning, the service and dining left much to be desired. The organization process for my wedding was chaotic and the food served was inedible. Overall, I'm afraid I can't recommend staying here, especially for special events.
Rooms
5.0
We faced a lot of issues during check-in, and our room was not clean or ready on arrival, which was a disappointing start to our stay.
Service
5.0
The staff was highly unorganized and unresponsive to our inquiries, which made planning our wedding very stressful.
Location
8.0
The venue itself is gorgeous, set in a great location, but it doesn’t make up for the other flaws I encountered.
Dining
5.0
The wedding food was horrendous—30 minutes late, undercooked, and just plain bad. It was very embarrassing having my guests eat such poor quality food at a special occasion.
Facilities
5.0
Overall, the facilities felt unprofessional, especially with issues like hidden fees and poor communication.

I had mixed feelings about my stay. The views of the mountains were absolutely stunning, and the property had a serene atmosphere which I loved for its peacefulness. However, there were some facilities that need improvement, and the dining experience left a lot to be desired. Overall, it’s a decent place for the price, but issues in service and amenities might deter some guests.
Rooms

The room was large, clean, and quiet with a nice view of the mountains. It lacked air conditioning, but the cooler nights made it comfortable.
Service
6.0
The staff was kind and accommodating, especially with our flexible check-out time. However, the overall organization of services felt lacking.
Location
9.0
The location is truly beautiful, nestled between mountains and away from the hustle and bustle of town, though it’s about 7 miles outside of Estes Park which might be inconvenient for some.
Dining
5.0
The dining options were disappointing, especially considering the previous experiences. Breakfast lacked variety, and the dinner service was slow and not up to par for a wedding.
Facilities

While the grounds had incredible potential with beautiful views and trails, some facilities like the pool and stables were in disrepair.

My stay at the lodge was quite mixed. The incredible views and large, clean rooms made my experience memorable, but some facilities really need attention, and the unmaintained pool and hot tub were a letdown. The location is peaceful, nestled in nature, which I appreciated, but it could use some updates to justify the price.

The Dao House offers stunning views of the mountains and has a spacious and clean room. The location feels very peaceful and is great for outdoor activities, making it feel like a retreat. However, the property is showing signs of neglect, and some amenities like the pool are not in usable condition. Additionally, I found the service was somewhat inconsistent, particularly during our wedding event.

Our room was large, clean, and quiet, with a gorgeous view of Longs Peak and a backdoor leading to a beautiful walkway. Initially, the room felt stuffy until I figured out how to turn off the propane heater.

While the staff were flexible and accommodating with our requests, especially regarding our check-out time, there were significant organizational issues during my wedding planning.
Location

Set in the Rocky Mountains, the location is peaceful and remote, about seven miles outside of town, which is perfect for hiking and enjoying nature, but not ideal if you want easy access to local attractions.

My experience at Dao House was mixed. While the location and the view of the Rockies were stunning, I faced significant organizational issues during my stay. The staff was friendly, but there were moments of confusion and miscommunication. The room was clean and comfortable overall, but a musty smell lingered until I opened the door for fresh air. If you're considering this venue for a big event, you might want to think twice, but for a quiet getaway, it has its charms.
